On Thursday, September 20th, the Communities students were on a scavenger hunt in Downtown Oshkosh. The students were randomly grouped into 5-6 people and every group had a list of tasks they had to complete. The students were off on their own and were expected to use NITE communication when greeting business owners. Technology was involved meaning students had access to using their smartphones to find information they needed. This activity helped students that weren't familiar with each other come together and problem solve.
Communities at Oshkosh North High School is a Project Based Learning environment that revolves around the community. We learn with the community, within the community, in order to make the community a better place. Our goal is to provide hands on and relevant learning opportunities for our students so they learn the content as well as 21st century skills.
